In consideration of how hard really great lobster rolls are to come by in this city, the Happy Lobster truck has stepped in to meet the skyrocketing demand with spicy “angry” rolls as well as more neutral “happy” rolls with butter and mayonnaise. The lightly dressed, tender meat is sure to satisfy even the most demanding customer.
Piko Street Vendor
Piko’s bright red truck is part of the landscape at almost every street festival in the city. They sell pork belly, chicken, tofu, and ribeye in your choice of bao, tacos, bowls, or sliders. You are sure to enjoy the delicious house sauces on the side.
5411 are unique in how fuss-free it is to enjoy their food. This vendor is perfect for those who don’t appreciate having to fiddle around with utensils on the sidewalk. The baked delights come with ham and cheese, beef, Parmesan and caramelized onion among other fillings. Get at least 5, and don’t forget the dip!
Döner (German, pronounced Doener) is a delicious street food, originally made only in Turkey. It’s extremely popular in most European countries, something like the European version of tacos, but tastier and more nourishing. Döner Men is one of the best vendors selling this fast food, spit roasted chicken wrapped in a pita with vegetables, fries, and several toppings, ranging from Parmesan and 1000 Island to house dairy- and mayo-based sauces. Their grilled sausages, swimming in curry and tomato sauce and served with fries, are amazing as well.
Chicago Pizza Boss
This Chicago street vendor dishes out amazing, crispy-crust Neapolitan-style pizzas. Our favorite is the Margherita, which comes with grated Parmesan cheese and a solid amount of super-healthy extra virgin olive oil.
The Corner Farmacy
This health-conscious vendor specializes in locally sourced, farm-fresh food – the fresh, delectable breakfast sandwiches and juices squeezed on the spot are particularly popular.
Tamale Spaceship Food Truck
This is one for Mexican food lovers – offerings include tamales with roasted chicken, tender grilled pork, or duck.
Aztec Dave’s Truck
Another Mexican street vendor, this one serves tacos, tortas, and burritos with your choice of al pastor, chicken, or skirt steak. The tacos come with cilantro and onions. There’s also a wide variety of delectable house sauces.
